To give you a better idea about all that our school has to offer we are excited to introduce you to Jill Cari, our Preschool Director at Mini-Skool in Tumwater, Washington.

 

Welcome to Tumwater Mini-Skool.

We are a licensed child care center providing care for Infants, Toddlers, Preschoolers, and School Age children. Our School Age program is for children in kindergarten up to nine years of age. Our Before and After School program services children from six years to nine years and who attend Peter G. Schmidt Elementary.

Our center is located in Tumwater on Capitol Boulevard, across the street from Peter G. Schmidt Elementary.  We are a purpose-built center with four playgrounds. Our one and two year olds love to ride bikes and play with toy lawn mowers on our back walk.  They also love the slides and climbing equipment provided on playgrounds shared with the three and four year olds.  We have a separate playground for the 5 year olds and school age children with climbing toys, slides, and grassy, shady, areas for children to run races on.  We also have a covered play area that all classes may use when it is rainy or snowing outside.

All our classes offer educational programs and follow an enrichment-filled curriculum designed by Mini-Skool.  Infants and one year olds have curriculum focusing on baby signs, early language development with additional focus on developing social skills and independence.  Our other classes follow an exciting curriculum which follows a monthly theme and weekly focus.  Our children are provided with lessons and activities centered around Math, Science, Literature, Basic Spanish, and Fun with Fitness, as well as activities in Art, Free Play, Outside Time, and Sensory.

To enhance the gross-motor parts of our curriculum, Mini-Skool is visited weekly by Games and Giggles.  This program allows our children to tumble on large indoor or outdoor mats as they learn to be active and skilled in games requiring team attitudes and group cooperation.  As an added bonus, we have a photographer who comes in once a year to take pictures of all our children.  Our parents are happy their children are allowed to experience the extra curricular activities and jump-start learning programs here at Mini-Skool.
